Canyons and Camping

Aspen Grove Family Camp

9521 N. Alpine Loop Road, Provo, UT

This is a Family Camp run by BYU just past Sundance in Provo Canyon. You must abide by BYU honor code (no alcohol, smoking, etc.) to go here so if you don't want to do that it wouldn't be a good fit. The view of Timpanogos is extraordinary and the trees, river, surrounding wilderness is just gorgeous. Activities are organized everyday for kids age 0-18 and they divide up by age group. Each group has 1 male and 1 female BYU student on summer vacation as "counselors" to guide them. They go on hikes, play games, do crafts, swim, go on a ropes course, archery and more. Kids who go on family reunions love it if they have cousins in their age group. The adults have activities too - they can play tennis, golf simulator, swim, hike, take a class, and much more. There are all kinds of accommodations from hotel style to large family cabins all they way down to A frame cabins that share a common restroom. The food is cafeteria style 3 times a day. It's not a 5 star restaurant but it is nice not to have to worry about how to feed your group and the food is included in the price. In the evening there are family activities and fun events. There is a camp store with BYU creamery items that is very popular. Extended families love it. There is no "daily housekeeping" - you make your own beds.
